Terminology
Here are some terms I have decided on in order to have a vocabulary to use as I build on my concepts and formulate my evolving beliefs. All are subject to change!
Seren - this is my own "soul name". That is, it is my permanent name, the name by which I'm known in my soul group and while existing in Elysium. It is a Celtic name meaning "star". In the same way, my guide named Diana was perhaps known in her last life as Mary Thayer, but her name in our souls' home is Diana. For purposes of this site and my related blog, I will refer to myself as Seren.
Elysium - the name of our spiritual home or planet. It is an ancient Greek term for "heaven". I'm using "Elys" for short. We'll see how it works. It is subject to change as my understanding expands regarding the nature of what others describe as heaven.
Source - the undefinable force that began the universe, likely some form of what's commonly called "the big bang". It may or may not have consciousness or intent. I have not yet reached a better understanding of this concept, and may not be able to discern much more from this side of Elys. However, I do think that everything comes from Source, including consciousness and human beings.
Tara - my evolving concept of God. Tara is a goddess in Buddhism. She is known as the Mother of All Buddhas and the personification of the Perfection of Wisdom. In Tibetan, she is known as "she who saves", and a "leader of the caravans who showeth the way to those who have lost it". In some dialects, Tara also means "star", which matches the meaning of my own soul name, Seren. It is not Tara the Buddhist goddess I am thinking of as "the" God. I chose to use her name, at least for now, because the Buddhist descriptions of her aptitudes and gifts match how I view the eternal being of whom we are all a part. We are Tara and Tara is us. In addition, I prefer to envision a deity, if there is one, as female in nature, though the actual supreme being is likely neither male nor female. Again, a different name may present itself as I go forward.
(more terminology as I go along)
This painting, also by Abbott Handerson Thayer, is a study of his three children. Mary is in the center. She was about 10 years old at the time. This is my Diana.
